Trump Administration Renews Four Restrictions

The Trump administration has decided to renew four restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program for the next 60 days, making it harder for Tehran to develop more nuclear weapons.

It will closely monitor the development of Iran’s nuclear program and may adjust these sanctions at any time.

The sanctions are designed to make Iran’s nuclear program less capable of making weapons.

Companies Fresh Start Scheme 2020

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has brought out the ‘Companies Fresh Start Scheme 2020’.

It will tell companies about any filing-related defaults, irrespective of the period of default, and get a fresh start as a completely correct entity.

To provide a similar facility for Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), MCA has also revised the ‘LLP Settlement Scheme, 2020’.

Vehicle Permit Validity Extended

The Center extended the validity of documents such as expired driving licenses, permits and registrations from June 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.

This is a step taken to ensure hassle-free transportation of goods amid lockdown on the new coronovirus epidemic.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has asked them to consider such documents valid till 30 June 2020.

IIT Guwahati Develops Drones

A group of students from IIT Guwahati has developed a drone with an automatic sprayer to clean large areas including roads, parks to prevent the spread of coronovirus.

Also, in Tamil Nadu, students of Agni College of Technology and experts from startup Garuda Aerospace also close-fitting the drones with sanitizer spraying mechanisms, which are now being used by the Chennai Corporation.

Telecom Will Expand Prepaid Validity

TRAI has enquired telecom operatives to extend the rationality period of prepaid users to guarantee that customers get continuous services during a 21-day nationwide lockdown.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has also sought details of the steps being taken to ensure the availability of uninterrupted telecom services on a “priority basis” to such customers.

IIT Madras Collaborates With Industry Partners

IIT Madras will collaborate with 2 industry partners for research in AI and magnetic nanoparticle-based products.

The institute has joined hands with Magazineome Technologies to develop magnetic nanoparticles-based products.

The institute has also collaborated with BUDDI Healthcare Technologies to develop AI-based software products for the healthcare industry.

Tata Power Starts Operating Shuakhavi HPP

Adjaristaskali Georgia LLC has announced the start of commercial operation of the 178 MW Shuakhevi Hydro Power Project (Shuakhavi HPP) located in southwest Georgia.

It is a joint venture between Tata Power, Norway’s Clean Energy Investment (CEI) and the International Financial Corporation (IFC).

In addition, AGL will soon start the 9 MW Halata Hydro Power Project.

ICICI Bank Launches Services On WhatsApp

ICICI Bank has introduced banking services on WhatsApp, which will facilitate customers to conduct financial transactions during national lockdown.

Retail customers can check their savings account balance, credit card limits, get details of pre-approved instant loan offers and block / unblock credit and debit cards.

They can also get details of ATMs and branches of the nearest 3 ICICI Bank.

Government Of India Launched The App “Corona Armor”

The Indian government has launched a coronavirus virus-tracking app called ‘Corona Kavach’.

The application has been jointly developed by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The application uses an individual’s location to assess whether they are in a high-risk geographic area.

Punjab National Bank Unveils New Logo

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has unveiled a new logo as United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce will merge with it from April 1, 2020.

The new logo will have different signatures of the three public sector lenders.

With this, PNB is going to become the second largest lender in the country.

Japanese Comedian Ken Shimura Passed Away

Veteran Japanese comic Ken Shimura, who was found positive for the new coronavirus, died in March 2020.

The actor was hospitalized on March 20 in Tokyo due to a fever and severe pneumonia.

Shimura was found positive for COVID-19 on March 23, 2020.

Shimura was the first major entertainment world figure in Japan to be found positive for the virus.

Tamil Actress Parvai Muniamma Passed Away

Tamil actress and folk singer Parvai Muniyamma died in March 2020.

Munimamma made her acting debut at the age of 66 with the 2003 film Dhul.

He acted in more than 50 films with stars such as Ajit Kumar, Dhanush, Vishal, Sivakarthikeyan.

He was awarded the Kalimani by the Tamil Nadu government in 2009.

Government Extends PLI, RPLI Premium Payment Period

Government Of Jharkhand Launched PRAGYAAM App

The Government of Jharkhand has launched a mobile app PRAGYAAM to issue e-passes to all those involved with the delivery of essential services during the national lockdown to counter COVID-19.

The application is designed locally.

After verification of the documents uploaded through the app, the district transport authorities have been empowered to issue e-passes to the vehicles through online mode.

Andhra Pradesh Government Facilitates Mobile Hand-Wash

The Andhra Pradesh state government has set up mobile hand-wash facilities for the benefit of slum dwellers during the lockdown in the state.

The facility of hand cleaning has become easier for both state officials and slum dwellers with mobile hand wash facility.

This facility is providing to people in slum areas in Nandyal town of Kurnool district to ensure access to preventive measures.

Tamil Nadu: ‘Modi Kitchen’ Begins In Kovai

A ‘Modi Kitchen’ with a capacity to serve 500 meals a day has started functioning in Kovai (Coimbatore) from 30 March 2020.

The kitchen has made arrangements to deliver food parcels within a radius of 10 km.

Dishes are prepared under the advice of nutritionists.

Workers of the Common Service Center will serve until 14 April 2020.
