The Maharashtra government said that vehicles carrying oxygen for Kovid patients will be treated with ambulance service for the next one year. The Center has asked Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana which states have been most affected by the epidemic – and also to ensure adequate oxygen availability in all health facilities in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
“The Government of Maharashtra has announced that vehicles permitted to carry oxygen for medical purposes will be treated with an ambulance for a period of one year during such a disaster and such vehicles will be subjected to emergency and disaster management duties. The vehicle will be treated as, “Government order this evening.
Earlier in a statement in Parliament today, Union Health Minister Drs. Harshvardhan said that the country is “self-sufficient” in the number of available oxygen cylinders.
The Center has supplied more than 1 lakh oxygen cylinders to the States and Union Territories.
“The country is self-sufficient in oxygen and oxygen cylinders. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has so far procured and supplied 1,02,400 oxygen cylinders in various states and union territories. In addition, oxygen concentrations are also being provided to the states. . ” The Health Minister said.
